Zoey’s Story
Zoey was born on April 19, 2025, at 37 weeks, in Winchester Hospital. She was overall healthy, but they wanted to provide her additional support in the NICU because she had labored breathing.
Zoey spent the next 7 days in the NICU where her numbers and levels fluctuated, but improved. On day 8 we noticed something wasn’t right. A few tests confirmed that she was fighting something and she was immediately transferred by the Boston Children’s Hospital team to the Beth Israel NICU.
Zoey fought for the next 48 hours but ultimately she passed away on April 28th due to an infection that she wasn’t strong enough to overcome.
Although we lost Zoey after 9 days, and miss her everyday, we are also thankful for the kindness, care, and compassion of everyone working in the NICU throughout her life.
The NICU is a scary place for parents and we are so honored to have this book drop from NICU Warrior Family Books in honor of our sweet girl.
